Getting Your Driver's License

You must get your Arizona Driver's License as soon as you become a resident of the state.  If you have a license in another state, bring your old license and another form of ID, such as your Social Security Card. If you do not already have a driver's license, you will need proof of age and identity, such as a birth certificate or passport.

You must also take a vision test, a written test on Arizona traffic laws and perhaps even a road test.

Arizona driver's licenses expire after different amounts of time dependent on the age of the licensee.

Registering Your Car
You must have proof of insurance to register your car, and it must have passed emissions testing annually if the car was built between 1967 and 2008.

Cost of registration depends on the year, make and model of the vehicle.  You must bring in your current registration card and plates when you go to any of the registration offices.

Renewing Your Registration
You can renew your registration on the following website in subsequent years:

servicearizona.com

Services online include:

  • Address changes
  • Auto license renewal
  • Ordering specialty plates
