For entertainment value, Arizona Vineyards takes the cake. The wines are made from table grapes and they offer selections like Apache Red, Desert Dust, Grand Canyon, Rainbow Rouge, and Rattlesnake Red. At $5.50 for a bottle of white and $7 for a bottle of red, the price can't be beat.

The premier winery of Arizona, Callaghan has been making outstanding wine since Kent
Callaghan established the vineyard in 1990. Although these wines are a bit higher priced (they range from $14 to $30 a bottle), this is a case of "you pay for what you get."  Winery hours are Friday through Sunday, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, and tasters are $3 (includes glass).

Founded by Leo Cox, a former Nuclear Engineer, Charron Vineyards is unique in that they focus solely on creating the perfect white merlot. Harvest time is in early August with release in November, but get yours quickly because they sell out fast.  Bottles sell for $18 apiece, and wine tastings are held every weekend.

Colibri is a newer vineyard, founded by Robert Johnson and Mickey McDonald in 2003.  They offer seven varietals, including Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Counoise, Roussanne, Viognier and Petit Verdot.  These varieties are found most commonly in the Rhône Valley of France, and many of these clones were originally collected there. Founded by Lord Garrison Reeves Ellam and his wife Kathy, Domaines Ellam is a producer of luxury wines in Arizona. Traditional methods are used, with no fining or filtering, and combined with the Village of Elgin Winery, (also owned by the Ellams) around 50 different wines are produced annually. Tastings are from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, and costs $1 for up to four tastes. For an additional $2 you can keep the glass.

Dos Cabezas was started in 1995, and since then has grown to 60 acres of vineyards.  About
50% of the grapes grown are sold to other wine makers, but the other half is used to create award-winning wines enjoyed by Hollywood producers and United States Presidents alike.
Tastings are available by appointment only.

Fort Bowie has 40 acres of vineyards in beautiful Bowie, Arizona, and is the producer of 10 table wines and 1 sparkling wine. Prices are economical, with bottles ranging from $6 to $12, and store hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, and Sundays 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
